Rovinj in pink sunset hues is a sight that perfectly captures the timeless romance of Croatia’s most picturesque coastal town. Photographed in the first half of September, this image captures the Adriatic coast at a magical turning point, when the heat of the day changes to the soft light of an early autumn evening.
The historic old town of Rovinj is built on a small peninsula and rises from the calm, evening sea. It is crowned by the bell tower of the Church of St. Euphemia. This 18th-century Venetian-baroque landmark stands above the pastel-colored houses.
I was lucky. The typical, almost cloudless sky of Croatia during the summer turned rapidly into a stunning palette of warm pink, soft violet, and deep orange. On the right, people gather on the rocky pier to enjoy the sunset and the slow Mediterranean lifestyle.
