Piran alleyways twilight magic comes alive even in the well-traveled cobblestone corridors of this coastal town. I captured this photograph looking up the historic IX. korpusa street, right next to the yellow facade of the Church of Our Lady of Consolation (Cerkev Marije Tolažnice).
Bathed in the glow of street lamps, it is quite difficult to get a photo without any tourists, even at the end of the season. IX. korpusa street is very busy even during the evenings, as it connects Tartini Square and the St. George Parish Church. I had to be patient not to catch any bigger groups of tourists heading to the church on the cliff to see Piran and the Adriatic Sea after sunset. The light in the sky was quickly fading, and every second at this time of day counts. I wasn’t entirely successful…
