Golden Hall is the most beautiful room of Bojnice Castle and it’s centerpiece is the Golden Ceiling. It is an exquisite copy of the ceiling in the Gallerie dell’Accademia in Venice.
Looking directly upward, the viewer is met by a chorus of 183 unique angelic faces, each hand-carved from pinewood and covered in gold leaf. At the very center of this celestial assembly, a larger angel holds the Pálffy family coat of arms, signaling the legacy of Count Ján Pálffy. Circling this central figure is the profound Latin inscription: ‘Omnia Cum Tempore’, translating to ‘Everything has its time.’
The ceiling was meticulously crafted by the Colli Company and reached its final completion in 1909, marking one of the last major steps in the castle’s 22-year romantic transformation.
