Mud Cracks

Abstracts

A detailed top down view of a cracked mud during the autumn sunset light. I have always been envious of so called “mud cracks” photos taken at famous locations like Death Valley, USA. At the beginning of September 2019 a huge rainstorm hit the area very close to my home and created quite a large mud area. After it dried out over the course of two weeks, it became cracked just like in Death Valley. Although sudden downpours are becoming quite common, the muddy area that cracks over time is still a rare occurrence. The area itself isn’t very photogenic, so abstract views are the way to capture the beautiful randomness. I could spend hours photographing these. However, the best light for this subject appears to be soft evening light.
