Moonrise
Trees and ForestsThe title, and a story behind this photograph is very similar to the famous Ansel Adams photograph called “Moonrise, Hernandez”. Ansel and his friends were driving home from a day of shooting and suddenly, he saw a tiny town of Hernandez and its cemetery lit by setting Sun. He only had time to make one frame on his large-format camera, before the Sun had sunken below the horizon and the moment was lost forever. I experienced the same situation when I was making this photograph. I only had a few moments to capture this unique looking tree and next to it, the rising Moon. Just moments later, the passing clouds covered the Moon and the moment was lost forever.
