Šum Waterfall (Slap Šum) stands as the grand finale of the entire canyon walk in Vintgar Gorge near Bled. My photo captures the majestic 13-meter-high drop of the Radovna River as it plunges into a deep, crystal-clear emerald pool. The lush green moss on the surrounding limestone cliffs highlights the vibrant colors, making it a paradise for landscape photography.
Interestingly, during my first visit to the gorge back in 2014, I didn’t even get to see this waterfall. Back then, the trail was bidirectional, allowing us to simply turn around at any point and walk back to the entrance. Today, due to strict one-way traffic rules introduced to manage the crowds, you are forced to walk the entire 1.6-kilometer route, which eventually leads you right to this spectacular site. Seeing it for the first time in 2025 felt magical.
