Neptune Fountain Florence blue hour panorama captures the mystical atmosphere of Piazza della Signoria just before sunrise. As the night sky fades into a deep twilight blue, it creates a stunning contrast with the warm, golden glow of the city’s streetlights.

Standing prominently at the corner of Palazzo Vecchio is the Fountain of Neptune (Fontana del Nettuno), a Renaissance masterpiece sculpted by Bartolomeo Ammannati. Commissioned in 1559, the central part of this white marble monument is dominated by a large statue of Neptune—affectionately nicknamed Il Biancone (the white giant) by locals. The deity is surrounded by a group of smaller figures, sea nymphs, and powerful horses emerging from the basin.

In the softly lit background to the left, the equestrian statue of Cosimo I de’ Medici stands guard, while the stone walls of Palazzo Vecchio frame the right side of the image. Experiencing Piazza della Signoria at dawn, completely devoid of tourist crowds, is a magical and must-see moment when visiting Florence.
