Ljubljana cathedral interior is a masterpiece of baroque art and a must-see for anyone visiting the Slovenian capital. I captured this photograph with a strong emphasis on central symmetry, standing right in the middle of the nave. The perspective leads the eye from the checkered marble floor directly toward the high altar.
Officially known as St. Nicholas’ Cathedral (Stolnica sv. Nikolaja), the entire space is beautifully decorated. Bathed in soft light filtering through the high windows, the image showcases the massive columns and detailed frescoes by Giulio Quaglio.
