Lipizzaner horse and stone wall create a beautiful harmony of living heritage and historic architecture, captured within the legendary Lipica estate in Slovenia. Founded in 1580 by Austrian Archduke Charles II, this world-renowned stud farm has spent nearly half a millennium perfecting the characteristics of this imperial breed. The connection between these noble animals and the carefully preserved Hapsburg-era masonry highlights the deep cultural significance of the sanctuary, which is officially recognized on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Shot in the harsh midday light, a single horse from the herd found a secluded section under the dense leaves and started feeding on the lush ivy. This quiet, independent moment provided a wonderful opportunity to capture the animal away from the group, interacting directly with the historic environment.
