Nature has its own way of making art – and sometimes, so do we. Flying over the countryside between Trnava and Nitra, I spotted these diagonal strips carving the fields into a perfect X from above – loosely echoing the geometry and colors of the Jamaica flag.
These strips aren’t accidental. Farmers across Europe plant them to support pollinators, birds and improve biodiversity. But from up there, they look like something far more poetic.
Then came the harvest. Then came the heatwave. This photo shows what one week can do. June 22 and June 29 – same place, same geometry. Everything else changed.
