Bled Lake from Mala Osojnica, Slovenia captures the breathtaking scale and vibrant colors of this famous alpine lake from its most spectacular vantage point. Shot from the summit viewpoint of Mala Osojnica, the composition showcases the dramatic contrast between a moody, storm-threatened sky and the vivid turquoise water below.
Shot just after midday, the heavy clouds opened briefly and illuminated Bled Lake and Bled Island. From this elevated perspective, Bled Island and its 17th-century Pilgrimage Church look like a tiny sanctuary of light anchored in an emerald sea. The medieval Bled Castle is perched on the distant northern cliff with the town spreading along the eastern shore. The heavy, dark clouds rolling over the mountains signalled the following day full of heavy rain.
